Representatives of the Natural style type are gentle, homely, welcoming, simple, and approachable. Their beauty is earthy, warm, and physical, and their soul is wide open. The face of a Natural is open, broad, and soft, like grandma's pies, or "chopped" like a fresh woodpile, undefined, and unbalanced. Such faces are appealing at first glance due to their approachability, lack of distance and coldness. It's precisely this kind of person you wouldn't be afraid to approach on the street or ask for kind and wise advice. You want to trust them, you want to hug them, you want to drink tea and buns with them, and enjoy the simple joys of life together. Their colors are warm and muted, natural, and their textures are equally natural—rough, fluffy, matte.

The Natural type is lucky in that they have no trouble looking harmonious in comfortable everyday clothes, but, of course, every coin has two sides. Many representatives of this type are completely unhappy with being "simple" (even if extremely attractive), which prompts them to deny their nature, completely embracing other styles (usually Dramatic or Classical), thereby dulling their charisma and significantly coarsening their appearance. Strict boundaries are absolutely detrimental to such a free spirit.

A much more subtle way to "complicate" your look is to find expressions of additional stylistic types and emphasize them, while necessarily incorporating naturalness into the expressions it dominates. For example, in the textures of fabrics for a pronounced hair and skin tone, or in colors for a soft/warm color type.

Let's look at the main mixtures with Naturalness:

Natural + Drama

A dramatic natural is no longer a homebody with curvaceous features. Her facial features are sharper, her facial contours are more defined/bonier, her textures are more striking, and her colors are more vibrant. Conjures up associations: Amazons, warriors, free and bold savages, large wild cats, she-wolves, huntresses, Native American/African tribeswomen, athletes (and certainly not rhythmic gymnasts). Overall, she's a truly strong woman: she can stop a galloping horse and enter a burning hut. Beautiful and unbridled.

Wild Image type is the result of this combination.

Natural + Classic

Influenced by Classicism, Natural's features become more symmetrical and restrained, refined, textures smoother, colors more neutral/cool, and styles more composed. Classic nobility combined with a natural aesthetic is reflected in: cultivated nature (city parks, nature reserves, safari parks), yachting, country estates and golf clubs, provincial and lesser England/Scotland, the colonial period, and university campuses. 

The elegant naturalness of this combination is embodied in the Manor Image Type.

Natural + Naive romance

The Naive Natural is a favorite character type in Slavic folklore. Their colors are purer than typical natural ones, their facial features are rounder and more compact, playful, upturned, and, of course, childish. The cuteness and playfulness of this image evoke associations with European villages, brightly colored orchards, farm children, beach vacations, paradise islands, holidays and other fun outdoor activities, pastoral, Provençal, Gavroche styles, and, of course, rosy-cheeked Alyonushkas from beloved fairy tales.

The personification of this duo is the Cheerful Image type.

Natural + Complex romance

Complex romanticism adds a "transparency" to the Natural: lines become more fragile, features smoother and more elongated, colors are complex and cooler, and the earthy impression is enhanced by a veil in the eyes. The associations evoked are quite mystical, yet still natural: wood elves, river mermaids, dryads, nymphs, and other maiden characters from ancient Greek myth and fantasy, as well as real-life, mysterious corners of our planet—relict forests, ruins of ancient civilizations, the enchanting landscapes of New Zealand, Iceland, and Scandinavia.

The aesthetics of spiritualized nature is the basis of the Sensual Appearance type.
